Sounds of Music Huntly

FREE OPEN DAYS

Thursday 26th Feb and Saturday 28th Feb 2026

1pm - 3pm

Number 30, Huntly, AB54 8BR

Sounds of Music is a unique performing arts programme for 16–25 year olds with Additional Support Needs who are currently in or have recently left supported education. For over a decade, the programme has thrived in Aberdeen City, supporting young people to grow in skill, confidence and creativity. We are delighted to now explore bringing this opportunity to Aberdeenshire.

Our free Open Days offer young people and their families the chance to experience our supportive, inclusive approach, meet the Music 4 U team and take part in a practical music and performance workshop. These sessions will help everyone decide whether Sounds of Music is the right fit, whilst shaping a future weekly group rooted in real performance opportunities and community connection.

If you’re looking for a creative space where young people can belong, grow and shine on stage, we’d love to see you there!

PLEASE NOTE: Participants MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian/carer to attend this Open Day.  We are offering one weekday session on Thursday 26 February 2026 1pm - 3pm and one weekend session on Saturday 28 February 2026 1pm - 3pm to suit different family schedules and there is no need to attend both.

Open Day Schedule (1pm–3pm)

The session begins with a short welcome and introduction to Music 4 U and the Sounds of Music programme, giving families an overview of how we support young people through music, creativity and performance.

Young people then take part in a practical music and performance workshop led by our tutors, offering a hands-on experience of the programme. During this time, parents and carers are welcome to relax in the Number 30 café.

The day concludes with an informal discussion bringing everyone back together, where parents and carers can ask questions, share feedback and explore next steps, including costs and funding options.

We are offering one weekday session on Thursday 26 February 2026 1pm - 3pm and one weekend session on Saturday 28 February 2026 1pm - 3pm to suit different family schedules and there is no need to attend both.
